The New 2016 Mercedes Luxury Golf Cart: The Future of Golf Cart Design
Aug 16th 2016
The sport of golf is a fashionable pastime enjoyed by some of the wealthiest and influential men and women worldwide. Since the usual golf cart bears a resemblance to a toy vehicle, Mercedes fulfilled the need for a more contemporary and luxurious design for the discerning adult golfer.
Mercedes has been in the lead of automobile technology for many years. Karl Benz, the founder of the company, originated the initial internal combustion powered vehicle. Benz is now bringing its creation to an entirely new location of the golf course.
German luxury automaker, Mercedes-Benz, has revealed the Style Edition Garia Golf Cart. This elegant golf cart will most certainly have golfers driving around the courses in high style. Ideas were presented for this contemporary golf cart, with Mercedes-Benz working together with golf cart designer, Garia, to create a cart that would be a golfer’s dream. Even though Mercedes-Benz designed the four horsepower carts, the Danish golf cart manufacturer, Garia, built them.
The mechanical foundation for creating the Golf Cart was supplied by Garia. The initial design concept took into consideration that golf carts require specific distinctive elements in regard to the existing space on golf courses.
The uncommon proportions of the cart that ensued still balance the design of the cart due to the talent of Mercedes-Benz Style designers, who have also combined the interior and exterior into a harmonious unit. The color and materials idea offers exciting and amazing highlights with the wood décor, stylish carbon fiber, and high-quality leather.
Amenities
The cart’s luxury interior and exterior bring an entirely new experience to the game of golf. The interior features an open cabin adorned with leather and wood, metallic trim, and a lounge-style seat covered in high-quality leather. The exterior is built with carbon fiber and has a carbon fiber air diffuser affixed to the rear. The curved windshield is inserted between the car-like front end and contrasting color of the carbon fiber roof. The cart boasts an ample supply of Mercedes-Benz Style and Garia labeling throughout its interior and exterior.
Modern conveniences include a storage tray for golf balls placed under the dashboard, and a refrigerator located under the bench seat. Storage space for glasses and bottles is also included, as well as cup holders on the dashboard and the passenger side. The cart also contains an audio system with Bluetooth connection and frame-mounted speakers for streaming music through a Smartphone. Mercedes is also looking at the possibility of adding a stronger set of Smartphone-linked features through its onboard entertainment system.
Golf bags are positioned at an angle in the rear of the cart so that golfers can have easy access to their clubs.
The cart is also equipped with a 10.1-inch tablet on the dash that displays the vehicle’s controls, including the traveling speed of the cart and power consumption. The tablet also permits you to change the driving mode from sport to eco, as well as regulate the windshield wipers. The tablet can also function as a map showing the layout of the golf course and can display the weather forecast.
Specifications
The cart operates on a Lithium-Ion battery and can travel approximately 50 miles on an individual charge. Even though the electric motor customarily yields only four horsepower, it can deliver as much as 15 horsepower for brief periods.
The cart also features Mercedes-Benz quality suspension and handling. It can go a top speed of 19 miles per hour and is equipped with disc brakes, turn signals, headlights, and brake lights for low-speed travel on the courses and on roads where permissible. It has a turning radius of 17 feet, and a front skid plate that offers protection underneath the vehicle.
The foot pedals are another attractive feature. As an indication to Garia, the right pedal displays a plus sign and the left pedal a minus sign. This offers a practical as well as a charming means of indicating their functions as accelerator and brake pedals.
The front grille is symbolic of the front portion of a Mercedes-Benz car, with the exception of its surface being molded with golf ball indentations. The shape and dimensions of the cart are designed to give it as low a profile and sporty look as a golf cart can possess.
Down the Road
Mercedes refers to their Golf Cart as a show car, but appears ready to make this project more than just a design application. Garia plans to build two working prototypes initially as public showpieces, and it seems as if there will be more models built if consumers respond with a favorable reaction. Mercedes plans to rely mainly on a digital retail model if they do continue with production.
