Pimped-Out Golf Carts That Will Make Fellow Golfers Green with Envy

May 2nd 2016

At one point in time, a tricked-out golf cart basically consisted of a custom paint job and maybe even installing a sound system. Well, as greatly pimped-out as those golf carts may have seemed back then, they are mere quaint old relics compared to the customized golf carts of today. Some of this has to do with modern technology. For example, 15 to 20 years ago, nobody needed a place for their iPads.

With all of the modern features of today’s carts, the prices for some of the most spectacular custom course vehicles can be astronomical. Celebrities, athletes, and anyone who is anyone that golfs seems to be in on the action. For inspiration, let’s check out some of the most impressive customized golf carts that money can buy.

Gotham Golf Cart

For anyone who has ever fantasized about being Batman, there is no better way to get around the golf course. With a sticker price of $28,500, this beast of a golf cart is for anyone with serious game that wants to make a statement when they are out on the links. Naturally, the Gotham Golf Cart has an all-black body and features twin aerodynamic wings, but that’s literally just scratching the surface. With adjustable leather seats and even a place for your iPad, the Gotham mobile, if you will, is truly a luxury way to ride. Oh, and best of all: It can get up and go at speeds of up to 38 miles per hour.

Pennwick Brooklyn

If you have A-list celebrities knocking down your doors to customize golf carts for them, you must be doing something right. And that describes Pennwick perfectly. Some of Hollywood’s biggest names depend on them for their custom golf cart needs. The Brooklyn, one of their most sought-after models, is clearly inspired by a little British-made, world-famous, carmaker called Bentley. An asking price of $16,500 buys many features, including a 48-volt charging system, headlights, taillights, and even turn signals. Though not street legal, with the Brooklyn you may be tempted to drive it around more than just your favorite golf course.

Pennwick F5

The sportier if slightly (very slightly) less luxurious offering from Pennwick, the F5 is the Ferrari of golf carts. Customized options for the F5 include a gas-powered chassis, leather seats, hard top, and even 15-inch rims. Of course, maybe not so optional, this Pennwick classic can also feature a golf bag holder. While this mean machine may look and feel like a Ferrari, it only goes up to 20 miles per hour. That may not be among the fastest, but it is more than adequate for traveling from tee to tee.

Pennwick Smoothster

Stylized after the Roadsters of the 1930s, the Smoothster has an incredible body and distinctive curves that set it apart from most other custom golf carts. You may be thinking that it’s wrong to talk about a golf cart like that, but if you saw this beauty up close, you’d understand. As with most other Pennwick golf carts, this retro custom machine has a fiberglass body, headlights, taillights, and seats up to four people comfortably. It also gets up and goes about 20 miles per hour. While the Smoothster is clearly geared toward classic car enthusiasts, it will more than satisfy anyone wanting to look stylish when they go golfing. The bottom line is, it’s called the Smoothster. Enough said.

The ‘56

The ’56 is a golf cart made by Pennwick that is designed to resemble a truck from the 1950s. This model definitely looks more like a truck than a golf cart, and is arguably the most realistic representation of a vintage vehicle among custom golf carts. Adding to its authentic feel is its signature grille, fenders, and even a real cherry wood bed floor. The ‘56’s features include a fiberglass body, headlights, taillights, turn signals, side mirrors, and more. It also has a 48 volt charging system and cruises up to 20 miles per hour. Everything about this creation says classic. For $15,500 or so, you can have perhaps the most unique golf cart on the market today.

Neoteric Hovercraft

Being driven by one of the best golfers in the world is the ultimate endorsement for any golf cart. Take Bubba Watson’s Neoteric Hovercraft, for example. Since he was seen at the wheel of this monstrous vehicle a few years back, his Hovercraft has been the envy of many. Part of this envy is due to its four seats and incredible beige gel-coat finish. This vehicle can be yours for about $58,000. Maybe not a small price to pay, but for a golf cart with a 65 horsepower fuel-injected engine that propels you up to 65 miles per hour, it’s more than worth it.

Garia Golf Car

One of the most basic of all customized golf cart models, the Garia comes in your choice of three colors for both your exterior and your seats. Also featuring LED taillights, turn signals, a 12-volt power outlet, and 10-inch custom wheels, the base model of this still luxurious cart comes in at approximately $11,000. Naturally, there is plenty of room for your clubs and anything else you need out on the course.

Garia Courtesy

Garia launched the Courtesy at the PGA Show 2016. Obviously, one of its unique features is that it can shuttle 6 passengers around, but it also comes in 4-seater and Roadster versions. Produced in Denmark, the Garia Courtesy goes up to 19 miles per hour, and is a stylish and convenient way to get you and your guests wherever you need to go. And, even though it’s electric, it’s able to go about 40 miles between charges.

Garia Soleil de Minuit

Upon its release, the Soleil de Minuit was offered for $52,000, which, at the time, made it Garia’s priciest model. Everything about it, from its Lamborghini pearl paint to its carbon-fiber roof, made it one of the most cutting-edge carts when it first came out. All of the features offered in the Soleil de Minuit have since become available on all Garia models.

Garia Mansory Currus

A dollar may not buy what it used to, but $78,000 can buy you one of the rarest customized golf carts in the world. Having only manufactured seven Curruses, this is truly a limited edition golf cart. The companies Garia and Mansory, who has teamed up with brands like Bentley, Bugatti, and Ferrari, to name a few, worked together to make these seven customized rides. The Currus can not only go up to 37 miles per hour, it can also charge while you drive it. That’s the very definition of high-performance paired with high-efficiency.

Royal Limo

Modeled after the Rolls-Royce, the Royal Limo is a limited edition golf cart with an asking price of $25,500. Perhaps the most unusual feature of this cart is its ability to fit six passengers. And, with a plethora of luxury features, from leather seats, to a first-class sound system, to polished rims, the Royal Limo more than lives up to its name.

Cadillac Escalade Golf Cart

The Cadillac Escalade is one of the most well-known luxury vehicles in the world, so it should come as no surprise that the golf cart version of the Escalade is catching on throughout the golfing world. At $13,500, the Escalade golf cart isn’t cheap, but with 16-inch chrome wheels, LED headlights, and other features, Cadillac lovers will tell you that it’s a small price to pay for the luxury of driving a Cadillac.

The California Roadster Limo

This offering, brought to you by Cool Carts, crosses the line between luxury and absolute pampering. Although powered by electricity, the Roadster can go for up to 50 miles before needing to be recharged. It can hold up to four passengers, and features a hydraulic braking system and an all-aluminum chassis. The California Roadster can be had for $13,595, chauffeur not included.

Ford F-150 SVT Raptor

If you’re intent on flexing your manliness on the golf course, there are few better ways to do it than with the SVT Raptor. As its name suggests, it is modeled after a Ford F-150 truck. Also not surprisingly, at 6-and-a-half feet in height and over 13 feet in length, it is one of the largest custom golf carts you will find. If you love Ford trucks and want to express that love on the golf course, this SVT Raptor offered by Caddyshack Golf Carts is the way to do it.

Ford Mustang Golf Cart

Another offering from Caddyshack Golf Carts, the golf cart version of this classic car will strike a chord with car lovers of all kinds (okay, maybe not Chevy lovers). While the Ford Mustang golf cart is not yet available as a hybrid, it is available in either gas or electric models. This is one of the smaller luxury golf carts, but can still reach speeds of almost 20 miles per hour and get the attention of anyone else out on the links. Similar to the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, the golf cart version of the Ford Mustang offers a high-quality sound system and a carbon fiber dashboard.

1957 Chevrolet LX

Orange County Golf Carts brings Chevy lovers something they can drive around with pride. The 1957 Chevy LX is a GM-licensed product, so it’s authentic as it gets. Club cars are available to fit either two or four passengers. Chevy golf carts don’t seem to be as easy to find as their Ford counterparts, but if you want to get your own piece of Americana, Chevy-style, this is the way to do it in a way that will definitely turn some heads.

Black 39 Roadster

There is no such thing as too many classics, and the 39 Roadster definitely falls into that category. Made to bring to mind an antique Rolls-Royce, this luxury cart even features a four-wheel braking system and shock absorbers to make it ride as smooth as possible. Add to that a 48-volt battery system, headlights, taillights, brake lights, and turn signals, and you’ve got yourself something that can only be explained as the ultimate version of golf course extravagance.

X4 Hybrid

American Custom Carts is the company who offers the X4 Hybrid, which is a golf cart designed to resemble a Hummer H2. The X4 is considered a hybrid because its engine runs off of both gasoline and electricity. This feature allows the X4 Hybrid to be driven about 200 miles before it needs to be refueled or recharged. Aside from being a hybrid, this model also includes a chrome grille, custom fiber dash, turn signals, a stereo system, and side mirrors. With room for you and three others, the X4 Hybrid’s price point is $17,900.

Mercedes Vision Golf Cart Prototype

It looks like one of the flying cars of the future, but it’s actually just a golf cart made to outclass and humble anyone who even looks at it. Not only is this concept vehicle stylish, it is also sustainable with its batteries that are charged by solar panels located on its roof. All of its features are controlled by joysticks between the driver and passenger seat. As if that’s not enough, it even has a touch-screen controlled media system.

Bob Hope’s Golf Cart

Bob Hope was truly an American original, so it should come as no surprise that he had likely the most one-of-a-kind golf cart in the world. While the exact make and model is difficult to pin down, the greatness of this golf cart is undeniable. In this case, a picture truly does say a thousand words.
